My Kayaking Expedition

Yesterday I went on a NUS kayaking expedition to the northern islands of Singapore, with Fish. (Haha, and nope, I unfortunately did not see any real fishes... my friends saw some flying fishes though... ai ya, I'm just blind. Haha). Our route was roughly the one in pink. =) By the way, the water was super-duper-fantabulous-ly dirrrrty. I think it was shit everywhere. *pukez*

Before the rain

At first, it was totally burning and I was soaking myself in sunblock, because I was already burnt from the previous One Star kayaking course. Then later, on the way back (the green part of the route), the weather became pretty bad. The sky was dark, the waters were super choppy, the winds were torrential, there was thunder and lightning all around us, and the rain was crazy! We could hardly see ahead of us!!! But, oh man, the adrenaline rush was fantastic.

Just before the rain

Fish and I were paddling like crazy women. Haha... all the way we were like "go Go GO!" and "LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT" (like dragonboaters. HAha) And, to psycho ourselves, we went "Come on! ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!" Haha... we were pretending that we were part of the Amazing Race. HAHAHaha.

It was a great experience. Plus we had the satisfaction of being the second team (first girl term) to reach the shore... Muahahaha. =)

Cinderella

You know, with God, Cinderella's "happily ever after" ending is not just a fairytale. It is possible. Because God is an eternal being, and He has promised His children that when the time comes, we'll spend eternity, full of joy, together with Him. That's the wonderful thing He has promised us, and God never breaks His promise. Just look to the rainbow - did you know the rainbow symbolises God's promise to Noah? In the same way, it reminds us of God's promises to us.

So even though sometimes we feel like the clock has struck midnight and the dance is over. Just remember, out there, God's promise of the "happily ever after" remains, and the rainbow still comes after the rain. :)

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28

Jennifer and Adrian's Wedding

~Sighs~ Wad a lovely wedding... almost exactly what I'd want if I were to get married!

Let me start from the "Hen Night" - the night where people just come to eat to supposed celebrate the last moments of singlehood of the bride. Haha... I think it's more to help her pass time... it was fun being with her that night, with her maid of honour (Janet, her sister) and her three other bridesmaids (actually she had FIVE, haha, but only 3 stayed over).

Then the next morning was a whirlwind of activities!!! We woke up super early at 6am to bathe and prepare for the groom to come. They arrived super on time, and we girls had quite a good time playing around with them before letting them in. Haha. Chui Mun made Adrian answer questions and if he got them wrong, one of his groomsman had to eat chilli padi! Haha, so poor thing. And then when the ten questions were over, all of them had to eat of a bunch of bananas. And then, for the last obstacle, one of the groomsman had to be "wax-ed", HAHAHAHa with making tape.

The church wedding was beautiful... even I was tearing already. Haha. So sweet lo... *dreamy eyed* HAha.

The yum cha and dinner was held at the hotel.... *ahem* the FIVE star MARRIOTT hotel... oh man, it was so super duper wonderfully beautiful and magical! It was like a whole different fantasy place inside there lo. Haha, that's how grand it was.

Jen bought her own wedding gown which is very very beautiful and costs RM3000, the flowers she held costs RM200, her hair and makeup stylist cost RM1000, each table at Marriott costs RM1000 and she had 60 tables... oh man... and the lists goes on... and I realise that I've sidetracked to $$ issues... HAhaha... my jaw dropped when I found out the costs...

Anyway, to end it all... my cousin just made me feel like getting married. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Psalm 73

**So Blessed Today**
Thank you for Ps100 and thank you Fishie for your msg! :)

Psalm 73 (New Living Translation)
A psalm of Asaph.

1 Truly God is good to Israel,
to those whose hearts are pure.

2 But as for me, I came so close to the edge of the cliff!
My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone.

3 For I envied the proud
when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness.

4 They seem to live such a painless life;
their bodies are so healthy and strong.

5 They aren't troubled like other people
or plagued with problems like everyone else.

6 They wear pride like a jeweled necklace,
and their clothing is woven of cruelty.

7 These fat cats have everything
their hearts could ever wish for!

8 They scoff and speak only evil;
in their pride they seek to crush others.

9 They boast against the very heavens,
and their words strut throughout the earth.

10 And so the people are dismayed and confused,
drinking in all their words.

11 "Does God realize what is going on?" they ask.
"Is the Most High even aware of what is happening?"

12 Look at these arrogant people--
enjoying a life of ease while their riches multiply.

13 Was it for nothing that I kept my heart pure
and kept myself from doing wrong?

14 All I get is trouble all day long;
every morning brings me pain.

15 If I had really spoken this way,
I would have been a traitor to your people.

16 So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper.
But what a difficult task it is!

17 Then one day I went into your sanctuary, O God,
and I thought about the destiny of the wicked.

18 Truly, you put them on a slippery path
and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction.

19 In an instant they are destroyed,
swept away by terrors.

20 Their present life is only a dream
that is gone when they awake.
When you arise, O Lord,
you will make them vanish from this life.

21 Then I realized how bitter I had become,
how pained I had been by all I had seen.

22 I was so foolish and ignorant--
I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.

23 Yet I still belong to you;
you are holding my right hand.

24 You will keep on guiding me with your counsel,
leading me to a glorious destiny.

25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth.

26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart;
he is mine forever.

27 But those who desert him will perish,
for you destroy those who abandon you.

28 But as for me, how good it is to be near God!
I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter,
and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.

Rest well, thank you

To speak in the silence of my heart
To bemoan the harsh whisper
To steel the sudden frailty
To await the moment
Till hope arises yonder
"Thank you... rest well... that's all I ask for"

Actually, it's just a lame thing... haha.

Eating Chicken

What's that? (You may ask)

That's excitment! Haha. Think about it.

Credit goes to Daryl Lim Zhiyang for coming up with this.

HAHAHAHahahaha.

The day that I try to be philosophical

Let's say I had a lovely plant... and I took great care of it. And I loved it.

But then one day, let's say it withered and became ugly and was on the verge of dying, would I still love it?

Let's say I do still love it, but then why do I? Is it because of the effort that I put into taking care of it? Is that why I still love it? Or is it because fundermentally deep down I do love it whether or not I took care of it?

Hmm... nature vs nurture.

(Haha, me trying to be philosophical)

Why can't I control myself?

Once upon a time (yesterday), there lived a girl (me). And on one particular evening, she was going to get two new things! One, a new pair of spectacles. Two, a new pair of contact lens. And she did receive them... it is always nice to receive new things.

Then later, during dinner... something happened. Her new lovely white bag (just only given to her last Saturday) suffered at the hands of a careless coffeeshop cleaner, who practically poured an entire concoction of gross liquid (probably a mixture of coke, sauce, oil and whatever disgusting black leftover liquid you can think of) on her poor poor new bag. She was furious! And glared at anything and everything, and anger overwhelmed her tiny heart.

Then her father spoke to the supervisor, requesting for a compensation. A deal was made... she give over the bag, and they pay $35 (the cost of the bag) in return. Then she went from anger, to helplessness. As she took out her things and placed them into a plastic bag, she uncontrollably started to cry... cry very hard... in public. Which is ridiculous. But yet what is done cannot be undone.

In the end, a new deal was made. The supervisor gave them $25, and they kept the bag.

A big fiasco over a small mole hill simply because of sentiment and emotional attachment. Ridiculous is the word of the day.

Exercise galore!

On Thursday I finally got down to exercising (not counting the two floorball tryouts which I sadly couldn't make it into the 3rd round... yet it's good that I didn't. As Pearl will say: dilemmic dilemma. Haha).

So what did I do? Crazily... I ran, then played hockey, then on Friday morning I tried tennis for the first time (with Daryl the No1! haha, Steven and Yvonne)...

Running -
felt great! My love-hate relationship for running is rekindled once again. Haha

Hockey -
felt weird... haha have not played for so long... and sustained tons of injuries... bruised toe, left ankle and right calf... the power of the hockey ball.

Tennis -
fun! Haha, although I can't swing very naturally... oh well, with practice perhaps I can get better... after all, I have the excuse of being a newbie. Haha.

So now, after all that exercise... *drum rolls*
I have butt ache, thigh ache, toe ache, ankle ache, arm ache, sunburn. :P
