Church Day

Finally today I attended a church (no more online sermons!). It was such a great great great feeling to be literally in the house of God again! Oh man, you can’t imagine the great love and presence I felt just being there. And I was filled with so much joy that I my eyes kept tearing up when I was inside the hall and during worship.

the hall -

the PA side of me couldn't help but notice this: white speakers! haha

The church is an international non-denominational one, so it didn’t have the “life” that I’m so accustomed to. I miss the power packed type of worship from Harvester (appreciate it my fellow bros and sis!!!) But I’m not grumbling! Because every song that was sung I knew!!! You cannot imagine how glad I was to be able to sing those songs! And to add on to the nice-ness, today happened to be communion day too. =) AND oh ya, guess what? They use real wine! Hahaha… diluted lah, but nevertheless it was wine. Hehe.

The pastor’s sermon was not bad, but I already knew that their sermons were not bad from the online sermons. By the way, they have three pastors who will rotate each week. One of the pastor-wife team was happy to speak to me for a while because they have mission works in Indonesia, so they often go to Singapore as well, to get to Indonesia. How cool is that? Finns doing God’s work in Indonesia!

But one thing that I was sad about was that the people are not very friendly in a sense. What I mean is that they would not come up and take care of you as our church would. So I was pretty much on my own. (My friend wasn't feeling well so he didn't go today) But you must understand that it’s because of the Finnish culture – You must make the first move, then only when they finally warm up to you, then you’ll have a friend. The bottomline was… haha, I felt alone in terms of fellowship, but spiritually soaked in God and His people.

Something totally irrelevant: Singapore won Asean Cup! Yeah!

I shall stop now… should go cook and then finish my Finnish. (hehe, couldn’t resist the pun).
